Dr. Taylor Ellis is an assistant professor in the Department of Social Work at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. His areas of interest include art-based research and interventions, juvenile justice, and trauma-informed care. In education, Dr. Ellis teaches courses related to organizational and community-based practice, advocacy, and research methods. In practice, Taylor partners with Embrace Alabama Kids (EAK) to provide independent consulting on the evaluation of their Higher Education program, which provides holistic services to college students formally in foster care or other alternative placements. Previously, he served as the lead evaluator for the evaluation of the Accountability Based Sex Offender Program: Continuum of Care Program (COCP) and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) sponsored Multidisciplinary Abuse Prevention Services (MAPS) program. Outside of his professional roles, Dr. Ellis is a poet, partner, and parent.
