Dr. Breshell Jackson-Nevels is an Assistant Professor of Social Work in the Ethelyn R. Strong School of Social Work at Norfolk State University. Currently, she serves as the Program Director of the Masters of Social Work Program Director. She has a passion for teaching new social workers entering in the field. She is known as a creative and an effective social worker with over twenty years of experience. Dr. Jackson-Nevels has worked in various entities to include: public school, pallative care, residential, pallative care, correction facilities, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. She has experience with various populations to include: children, adolescents, mentoring students, working with Persons living with AIDS and/or HIV infected persons/families, Veterans, and military families with multiple emotional problems including working with terminally ill patients. Her interest lie in coordinating and providing training in various areas to include sexual assault, domestic violence, mental health best practices, and various prevention programs. Further, she has written a book chapter and has published in various scholarly journals.
