Danielle E Brown, MA, MSW, LCSW, has been faculty at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work since 2011. Brown is currently Clinical Associate Professor in Field Education and has taught courses in clinical practice, human behavior and mental health, and grief and loss. Before teaching at USC, Brown was a school clinician at Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services in Los Angeles, CA. While there, she designed and supervised a field practicum for MSW students from USC and UCLA. Brown has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults managing severe mental illness, autism spectrum disorders, substance use recovery, grief and loss, and trauma. Her clinical training includes a post-graduate fellowship at the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center in Los Angeles, CA. She is a certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ) therapist, and is a board certified dance/movement therapist. In her private psychotherapy practice, Brown’s work with individuals, groups, and communities emphasizes the importance of the body and movement in recovering from trauma, and the inherently healing nature of dance and creative expression. . Brown earned her MA in Dance from UCLA and her MSW from UCLA. She is a licensed clinical social worker in California and Texas.
