Clinical Assistant Professor
Utah State University
Blanding, Utah, United States
Charlie received a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2008 and started working for DCFS, in child welfare. The next 9 years challenged her to the core as her eyes were opened to the reality of the human experience. From casework to adoptions, and then on to receiving her MSW and becoming a mental health therapist, she has enjoyed this journey and has learned to love and serve people. She is currently teaching social work from the Blanding USU campus. In her career, she has been lucky enough to work with both the Navajo and Ute tribes and learn to value the richness of their cultures. Charlie believes social work is challenging but incredibly rewarding.
