Ellen Katz is Associate Professor, Teaching Stream at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW), University of Toronto. Her research and clinical interests focus on mindfulness, family therapy, simulation, and the development of competence in both students and clinicians. She is a member of the research team at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto which has developed novel approaches to assessment of student and practitioner competence. She has worked in clinical practice for more than 25 years with individuals, couples, families and groups in hospitals, children's mental health settings and private practice, with a particular interest, and with advanced training, in family therapy.
