Grant Victor is the director of implementation at the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice. Victor’s research and scholarship broadly centers on the following domains: 1) behavioral health interventions among individuals with substance use disorders in the criminal justice system; 2) structural determinants to the utilization of substance use and mental health services; 3) the role of mitigation in legal defense case theory and sentencing outcomes; and 4) the effect of drug policy on substance use epidemiology, substance use treatment, and criminal justice involvement. Victor’s instructional activities have included Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Introduction to Social Welfare, and the Inside/Out Prison Exchange Program. He obtained a PhD and an MSW from the College of Social Work at the University of Kentucky and has professional experience in program evaluation and mitigation in capital cases.
