Nicole Cantoni earned both her MSW and her B.S. in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. After earning her MSW Nicole worked as a Case Manager at a homeless social services center, which built upon her clinical experience and helped her to discover new research interests. Nicole’s current research interests focus on the development of new interventions utilizing animal therapy specifically for children and young adults. She currently has a therapy dog who she hopes to use in her future research endeavors. Additionally, Nicole is also interested in using simulations to teach BSW and MSW students clinical social work skills.
