Mickey Sperlich, PhD, MSW, MA, CPM, is an assistant professor with the University at Buffalo School of Social Work. She is an experienced midwife and researcher who studies the effects of trauma and mental health challenges on women’s childbearing and postpartum experiences and outcomes, as well as the advancement of trauma-informed care more broadly. Dr. Sperlich teaches courses on trauma and human rights, working with survivors of sexual abuse, and infant mental health.
