Robin DeLuca-Acconi, Ph.D., LCSW is currently the Assistant Dean for Student Services and Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook University. She was a school social worker for 20 years. Her research surrounds equity and access in public education, human rights education and social and emotional learning. Other research includes advocacy, corporate responsibility and fair globalization. She works with the Robert F Kennedy Center for Human Rights and was on the Civil and Human Rights Committee for the New York State United Teachers and a Co Chair for the CSWE Human Rights Committee, Commission on Global Social Work Education. She has co-founded a non-profit, What Better Looks Like, which sends students to University in Rwanda and is dedicated to creating compassionate schools and communities locally. Dr. Acconi is the author of books and articles surrounding human rights as well as school social work.
