Learning Objectives:
Upon completion the participant will be able to demonstrate an increased understanding of employment-based field placements and how they have evolved as a result of the flexibility offered to students during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to discuss 2022 EPAS standard 3.3.7 and the challenges that field education teams may face when a student is considered both learner and employee simultaneously, as well as challenges that can arise when field instructor and employment supervisor are the same individual.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe the ways in which changing the employment-based placement standard falls in line with the NASW Code of Ethics by framing it as an issue of social justice.
