Sherise Epstein, MD, MPH is a resident physician and T32 research fellow in the Department of Otolaryngology-HNS at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. Sherise studied medicine in the Program in Medical Education (PRIME)-Health Equity at UC San Diego, where she was awarded the John and Lola Ross Award in the Sciences and Culture of Medicine in 2018. She studied quantitative methods at the Harvard School of Public Health, where she was awarded a Horace W. Goldsmith Fellowship from 2016-2017. Her T32 research focuses on special education outcomes among children who are D/deaf or hard of hearing (D/HOH), however she is also investigating sensitivity to Deaf culture among health professionals and beliefs and attitudes on Deaf education among families with D/HOH children with cochlear implants.
