Benjamin R. Johnson, MD, Resident Physician, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University
I am currently a 4th year resident at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University. I hold a BS in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and worked at a Department of Energy research laboratory (Sandia National Laboratories) in Albuquerque, NM. I later completed my MD at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. I have a strong passion for teaching/education and worked for a medical education company during medical school. During my intern year of residency I was fortunate to receive the Case Western Reserve Univeristy School of Medicine Humanism and Excellene in Teaching Award. My research interests include Usher Syndrome IIIA, and I received a grant from the American and Hearing Research Foundation to explore the use of antimalarials to prevent hearing loss in this disease. I have also been a part of multiple clinical projects, including a recent meta-analysis/systematic review on temporal bone resections for temporal bone squamous cell carcinoma. I have a strong interest in neurotology and will be applying for fellowship later this year.
