Maria V. Suurna, MD, FACS, is an Associate Professor and Director of Sleep Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Suurna received her medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She is bord certified in Otolaryngology and subspecialty board certified in Sleep Medicine. Dr. Suurna is nationally and internationally recognized as an expert in sleep surgery. She is dedicated to providing a comprehensive evaluation and treatment for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, with the focus on sleep surgery including hypoglossal nerve stimulation implant. Dr. Suurna’s research focuses on neurophysiology of obstructive sleep apnea and outcomes of neurostimulation therapy. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Suurna is actively involved in teaching otolaryngology residents and medical students at the New York Presbyterian Hospital.
