Austin Cao is a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania planning to pursue a career in otorhinolaryngology, currently serving as a Clinical Research Fellow in head and neck surgery. Originally from Wisconsin, he attended Rice University where he completed a BA in Chemistry and received advanced EMT certification. At Penn, he served as the ENT Lead Patient Navigator for the Center for Surgical Health, Coordinator for the University City Hospitality Coalition medical clinic, President of the ENT Interest Group, and a Near-Peer Mentor for MS1/2s. His research interests include functional outcomes in cancer patients, and he is pursuing certificates in Clinical Research and Academic Surgery. In his free time, Austin enjoys tennis, photography, and finding underrated restaurants in Philadelphia.
