Karen Y. Choi, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Choi completed her otolaryngology residency training at Albert Einstein/Medical Montefiore Center in the Bronx, NY and completed her fellowship training in advanced head and neck surgical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Prior to her career in medicine, Dr. Choi was a Teach for America corps member and served as a middle school teacher in Brooklyn, NY while receiving her Master of Science in Teaching at Pace University. Her clinical practice focuses on the breadth of mucosal malignancies of the upper aerodigestive tract, high-risk cutaneous malignancies, salivary gland neoplasms, and sarcomas of the head and neck. She has remained passionate about medical education both at the graduate and post-graduate levels and has been active in developing improved curriculum and practices for furthering surgical training.
