Tyler received his Doctorate in chemistry from the University of Sydney, Australia, specializing in laboratory-based astrochemistry. He then worked for 4 years as a post-doctoral researcher at the Advanced Light Source (ALS) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he supported a range of research programs at the ALS and also pursued research into carbon combustion mechanisms. He subsequently transitioned to industry as a computer vision engineer and has worked in various startups applying state-of-the-art AI technologies to real-world problems.
