A central focus of our efforts has been to develop a comprehensive model of care for people with IBD which encompasses psychosocial care. We have been studying the impact of this approach of patient outcomes and on healthcare utilization. We have instituted an extensive program encompassing nutrition, stress management, lifestyle modifications and psychosocial elements with the intent of improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare utilization. Our projects have involved the development of a long standing team who have all contributed to the our well integrated program with social work, psychiatry, nutrition, stress management and health education.
