I have been providing integrated psychiatric care to patients with sickle cell disease for over 8 years. As a dual board-certified psychiatrist in general and consultation-liaison psychiatry I have expertise in providing psychiatric care in medically complex patients while collaborating across specialties and disciplines. Complex medical needs often interfere with access to much needed psychiatric treatment, while psychiatric illness like depression can also interfere with management of sickle cell disease, especially treatment of pain and chronic pain. My area of special interest is understanding adherence behaviors and evaluating approaches to providing mental health care for young adult/transition age patients with sickle cell disease.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
