Dwight E. Kemp, MD, MS is a fourth-year psychiatry resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His clinical and scholarly pursuits focus on social and structural determinants of mental health, mental health equity, and population mental health.
Dr. Kemp’s academic interests include incorporating structural competency curricula into psychiatry training. He has presented on the topic nationally and has structural competency research and curriculum development in the pipeline. He is an American College of Psychiatrist Laughlin Fellow and American Psychiatric Association Public Psychiatry Fellow. After residency, Dr. Kemp will start postdoctoral fellowship in Mental Health Policy at Columbia University.
