Amy Grooms, M.D., joined the Department of Psychiatry at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as an assistant professor in 2019. Dr. Grooms graduated from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2013 and then completed her General Adult Psychiatry Residency and Consult-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at Brown University. She currently serves as the Director of Consult Liaison Psychiatry Division at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Her clinical and administrative duties predominantly include developing and running the inpatient consult liaison service at UAMS. She is also involved in medical student and resident education. Her areas of interest include psychiatric genetics, developmental disorders, neuropsychiatry, emergency psychiatry and treatment of substance use disorders in the acute medical setting.
