Andrew Edelstein, MD, is an Instructor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical, and Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. In the hospital setting, Dr. Edelstein supervises psychiatry residents and fellows, as well as medical students, providing psychiatric consultation to patients hospitalized for medical or surgical reasons. His interests include psycho-oncology in the inpatient and outpatient setting, as well as transplant psychiatry.
Dr. Edelstein completed his undergraduate education at Middlebury College. Afterwards, he attended SUNY Downstate Medical College. He then completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, followed by fellowship in Psycho-oncology and Consult-Liaison Psychiatry at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Dr. Edelstein continued to work as an assistant attending at Memorial Sloan Kettering, serving as psychiatric liaison to the gastrointestinal cancer oncology and palliative care services, before returning to Weill Cornell Medical Center.
