Medical Student
Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University
I am a fourth-year MD/MA student from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, Class of 2024. I previously attended the University of Chicago for my undergraduate studies, graduating in 2018 with a BA in Biology with a minor in South-Asian Languages and Culture. I took one gap year where I served as an AmeriCorps member teaching Biology and Math to 9th-grade students in Chicago Public Schools. During my clinical year, I really enjoyed my time on our institution’s Consult-Liaison service and was fortunate to meet Drs. Brian Bronson and Cynthia Cervoni, who are exceptionally supportive mentors to me. My current research interests are in decision-making capacity within the consult-liaison psychiatry and hospital medicine settings as well as socio-economic factors relating to patient care. I previously conducted research on race-insurance disparities in prostate cancer care in New York State culminating in a first-author, peer-reviewed publication. During my time in medical school, I have served on the Board of our school’s National Alliance on Mental Illness chapter as well as regularly coordinate, attend, and lead sessions for Medical Student Group Therapy. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Bioethics and Compassionate Care. In my free time, I enjoy learning how to wheel-throw pottery, biking, and listening to true crime podcasts.
