Tyler Zahrli MD, MA is a chief psychiatry resident at the Broadlawns UnityPoint Residency Program in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed medical school at Saint Louis University, participating in a dual-degree MD/MA program in Health Care Ethics. Dr. Zahrli has a diverse research background in medicine, psychiatry, and ethics. His current research interests are focused on both advancing practice guidelines and the intersection of genetic/autoimmune disorders and mental illness. Professional membership includes the American Psychiatric Association and Iowa Psychiatric Physician Society, serving on the education and legislative committees. Dr. Zahrli is currently working on cirriculum development and quality improvement for his residency program and has received multiple award/opportunities in medical school and residency for academics, education, research, and volunteerism.
