Psychiatrist James Kimball made the move south from his native New Jersey to continue his medical and academic career. A Drew University undergrad, he graduated from Rutgers Medical School before a residency at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and a fellowship in psychosomatic medicine at Medical College of Virginia – Virginia Commonwealth University. Since 2003 he has been at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem and has served in a variety of roles. In 2017 he was named an associate professor of psychiatry. His recent interests have been focused on global health , ECT, and addiction medicine.
