Mehdi Elmouchtari is a first year resident at SUNY Downstate Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. He completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at SUNY Geneseo and graduated with his MD at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. His career and research interests include child psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and interventional psychiatry. He has presented at AACAP, APA, and the Psychiatric Society of Virginia on such varied topics as delay discounting, neuromodulation in psychiatric illness, COVID and its impacts on adolescent mental health, and management of autoimmune encephalitis. In his free time he enjoys making music, creating visual art, DIY electronics, and riding his bicycle.
