Monika Merchea MD is a graduate of St. George's University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at The University of Oklahoma in Tulsa, OK. Currently, she holds many roles at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA including Medical Director of Inpatient Informatics, Hospital Medicine Physician and Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Not only is she an active member of multiple committees focused on quality and patient safety, but she has a passion for teaching. This passion grows each year through her interactions with medical students, residents and fellows, who in turn have awarded her two teaching awards. In Jan 2021, Monika became the Medical Director of Inpatient Informatics, which allowed her to impact patient care and provider efficiency through a shared EHR across a multi-hospital system. She endeavors to integrate health informatics with her clinical and educational skills in the delivery of excellent patient care.
