Dr. Gopalan is Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Chief of Psychiatry for Magee-Womens Hospital, and Medical Director of the Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison service across 9 of the hospitals in the UPMC system. She has been active in programmatic development around perinatal mental health and in teaching this to others. She is a faculty co-director to the psychiatry residents' Academic Administrator, Clinician Educator (AACE) track and Women’s Mental Health Area of Concentration at Western Psychiatric Hospital and is active in teaching OB-GYN residents at Magee. Her interests include Consultation-Liaison psychiatry, perinatal psychiatry, perinatal addiction, the business of CL psychiatry, resident education, and trauma-related disorders.
