Patrick Ryan is an Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD. The focus of his research is on suicide prevention in the medical setting, with an emphasis on suicide risk screening and assessment. At NIMH, he is the study coordinator for several multisite research protocols to examine the validity and implementation of the Ask Suicide-Screening Questions (ASQ). He also engages in various forms of dissemination of research findings, such as manuscript preparation and public health outreach. Patrick earned his Bachelor's Degree at Northwestern University, where he served as a research assistant studying adolescents at clinical high risk for psychosis.
