Deborah Benevenuto (Kennedy) MD, is a fourth-year psychiatry resident at the Medical College of Wisconsin (Milwaukee campus), serving a dual role as chief for both CL psychiatry at Froedtert Hospital and wellness. Dr. Benevenuto completed her medical degree at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and worked with critical care medicine for a few years prior to starting residency. Her writing experience includes authoring or co-authoring articles related to translational psychiatry, including mitochondrial dysfunction and kynurenine dysregulation in bipolar disorder and micro-RNA in major depressive disorder. She has a particular interest in cross-specialty education and has been involved with academic projects for internal medicine and emergency medicine residents. Other interests include emergency psychiatry, critical care psychiatry, psycho-oncology and translational psychiatry.
