Dr. Maria Chuop is a fourth year and chief psychiatry resident at Oregon Health & Science University, where she also earned her Doctor of Medicine degree. She has a special interest in medical education and created a novel educational model for teaching suicide risk assessment and management to preclinical medical students. She had a lead role in the development of a novel group psychotherapy clinic for patients with long COVID which also expanded training opportunities for residents. She has served as Associate Editor for the American Journal of Psychiatry Residents’ Journal and as a member of both the Program Committee and Executive Council for the Oregon Psychiatric Physicians Association.
