Psychiatrist
Massachusetts General Hospital
Boston, Massachusetts
Judith Restrepo is a psychiatrist who evaluates and treats patients on the inpatient medical and surgical units at the MGH. After completing training in psychiatry at the MGH and McLean Hospitals, in connection with Harvard Medical School (HMS), and her subspecialty training in consultation-liaison (C-L) psychiatry at MGH, she joined the faculty at MGH and HMS where she provides clinical care, supervises trainees, and conducts transplant evaluations. She works with the lung and heart transplant teams at MGH with hopes to expand clinical research at the intersection of mental illness and transplant. She has participated in the development of several initiatives to expand access for transplant for patients with substance use disorder and to facilitate mental health access to those who have undergone a transplant. This has included developing a protocol to facilitate lung transplants in those who have been diagnosed with opioid use disorder and have achieved sobriety with opioid agonist therapy.
