Charles Hebert, MD is dually trained in internal medicine and psychiatry. He completed undergraduate and medical school training at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and a combined internal medicine and psychiatry residency at Rush. Dr. Hebert has been on staff at Rush since 2010 and presently serves as the Director of the Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service through which he treats a wide array of patients with behavioral health needs in medical, surgical, neurological, obstetrical and other venues of care. Dr. Hebert has spoken widely about the importance of integrating behavioral health awareness into medical practice and workflows, including at the Society of General Internal Medicine and Academy of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry’s annual meetings. In addition, he has been an advisor to the City of Chicago on behavioral health responses to disaster planning as part of the Chicago Healthcare System Coalition for Preparedness and Response and has been an invited speaker in this regard at international meetings, including the World Association of Disaster and Emergency Medicine's Congress in Brisbane, Australia in 2019.
