Dr. Stewart completed undergraduate training at Middle Tennessee State University and obtained his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. He completed a psychiatry resident program at Meharry Medical College where he served as chief resident. He is recently finished his fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and the University of California San Diego. He is now a staff psychiatrist in Primary Care Mental Health Integration, the VA's collaborative care program. He enjoys both inpatient consultation-liaison work as well as collaborative care in the outpatient setting. He also has interest in neuromodulation for treatment-resistant mental illness. He lives in San Diego with his fiancée and his dog Lucy.
