Dr. Shixie “Max” Jiang is a fourth-year and chief resident in psychiatry at the University of South Florida. Originally from Quxian, China, he graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in biology and received his M.D. from the University of Central Florida. He is a recipient of the 2020 Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry’s Webb Fellowship Award.
Dr. Jiang’s clinical interests within consultation-liaison psychiatry include delirium, depression in the medically ill, and critical care psychiatry in general. His primary research endeavors focus on the application of novel optical functional neuroimaging techniques towards understanding the neurobiology of various psychiatric disorders, including delirium and depression.
