Dr. Ackerman completed training his MD, PhD at the University of Rochester and Residency and Fellowship at the University of Pittsbugh/UPMC. He served as medical director of the CL service at UPMC and mentored a number of ACLP members and fellows. His research focus has included neuroanatomical underpinnings of psycho neuro immunology, and clinical studies of stress and autoimmune disorders.
