Kaitlyn Crutchley is a first-year medical student at University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine. Kaitlyn graduated with highest distinction from the University of Iowa in May of 2021 where she studied mathematics and biology and worked as a research assistant in the Shinozaki Lab, Department of Psychiatry. Her research has primarily focused on delirium in geriatric hospital inpatients. She is interested in helping develop improved diagnostic tools and investigating potential biomarkers of delirium. She has played a key role in bioinformatics data analysis for several research studies with epigenetics and novel bispectral EEG, and she has been already a co-author for articles published in high impact peer review journals including Journal of the American Geriatrics Society and Scientific Reports and several more papers are under review. Kaitlyn received the ACLP Trainee Travel Award in 2021 and was selected to participate in the 2022 FAER MSARF fellowship.
