Brenna received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with focuses in biomechanics and global health from Northwestern University. On graduation she worked as a biomedical engineer in the Department of Defense at Walter Reed National Medical Center performing clinical research on post-TBI psychiatric illness in military service members. She received her M.D. from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and her residency in psychiatry at George Washington University. She completed her Fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine and Consult-Liaison Psychiatry at Inova Fairfax Hospital in July of 2021 and remained on faculty as a consult-liaison psychiatrist and piloting a new position as the integrated psychiatrist within Acute Trauma Care Surgery.
