I am an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill and Deputy Director for the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. In addition to my administrative role, I am a practicing psychiatrist and clinical researcher specializing in the care of patients and families affected by cancer. I completed my clinical training in adult psychiatry and consultation-liasion psychiatry at Harvard Longwood Psychiatry and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. As a clinician who has also conducted foundation and NIH-funded research, I seek to design and test psychosocial oncology interventions that can be implemented into clinical practice. I have expertise and special interest in the mental health and quality of life for parents with cancer and cancer caregivers.
