Developing a framework for measuring performance and quality on CL psychiatry services has been a ‎persistent challenge. Because CL psychiatrists are—by definition—consultants on medical teams, ‎clinical teams’ performances on outward-facing quality measures usually cannot be traced back to the ‎quality of psychiatric care. Meanwhile, CL psychiatry services are highly variable in terms of their ‎resources, how they are structured, and how they are valued in hospital systems. Exciting new data ‎are starting to emerge about how high-quality psychiatric care impact medical outcomes and hospital ‎performance metrics. In this context, the Quality and Safety SIG was asked by the ACLP Executive ‎Board to review new research into quality and performance metrics and make recommendations ‎regarding what kind of steps the ACLP could take in order to advance this research further. In this ‎workshop, members of the Q/S SIG will present our findings and recommendations and open them to ‎discussion with the membership at large.‎
