The goal of this course is to introduce new practitioners to the field of C-L Psychiatry. The course has a ‎revolving list of topics, covering about five topics per year, with the objective of covering most of the ‎basics over a three-year cycle.‎ This year's topics and speakers are:‎

Learning Objectives:

Identify key points in the CHF patient journey that benefit from psychiatric vigilance and intervention
Understand key changes in DSM-5 concepts of somatic symptom disorders, detect their core clinical features, and coordinate treatment options
Identify medical advancements in the care of people living with HIV and discuss current challenges to the HIV Psychiatrist
Identify key roles and goals for C-L Psychiatry care in oncology
Identify and manage common co-occurring substance use disorder diagnoses which are clinically seen amongst consultation psychiatrists within the general hospital setting
