Daisie Beckensall joined the Australian Federal Police in November 1999 and has worked in various investigative roles both domestically and internationally. These have included transnational crime, counter-terrorism, and Aviation operations. Between 2007 and 2011, Daisie was the Liaison Officer in Beijing, China, working at the Australian Embassy. In this role, Daisie liaised with the Ministry of Public Security and the National Narcotics Control Commission in relation to transnational crime investigations, intelligence, and law enforcement capacity programs; in addition to liaison with foreign law enforcement in preparation and during the Beijing Olympic Games. In 2016, Daisie worked in the Netherlands on the investigation into the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. After her return, from 2016 to 2019, Daisie worked at Melbourne Airport as a Sergeant of an operational team, and then later, as the Officer in Charge. Most recently, Daisie was a team leader of the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team in Melbourne, working together with State, Territory, and foreign law enforcement partners to combat this crime. Since July 2022, Daisie has been the AFP Liaison Officer based in The Philippines, with responsibility for child protection matters. In this role, Daisie works in close collaboration with the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation through the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Centre, on the online sexual abuse of children investigations.
