Homeland Security Investigations
Jim has been employed as a Special Agent with the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) for over 15 years. He is currently assigned to HSI Dalton in North Georgia. His career in law enforcement began in 2000 as a police officer with the City of Alpharetta (GA). As a police officer, he served in patrol, the community service unit, and the FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force in Atlanta. Jim began his career with Homeland Security as an HSI agent in 2007. He investigated and successfully prosecuted his first child exploitation case in 2009. In 2017, he received the United States Attorney’s Award in Atlanta for numerous successful child exploitation prosecutions. Since then, Jim continues to conduct, coordinate, and participate in numerous investigations related to the sexual exploitation of children. In addition to child exploitation cases, he also works on numerous other cases including sex and labor trafficking cases involving multiple victims. In October of 2021, he successfully concluded an alien harboring case that resulted in the seizure of over five million dollars of assets.
