Kelsey Smith Foundation, Inc.

Missey Smith co-founded the Kelsey Smith Foundation with her husband Greg in 2007 after the murder of their daughter Kelsey. Kelsey had been abducted from a department store in broad daylight and her body was recovered four days later. Because of the obstacles in Kelsey’s case, this led to The Kelsey Smith Act- A law that allows law enforcement immediate access to the location of a wireless device when a person is believed to be in danger of serious bodily harm or death, and law in 25 states as of 2019. Missey has worked with state legislators across the country in an effort to pass this life-saving legislation.
