The investigations of crimes against children have become extraordinarily complex. The proliferation of cryptocurrency and its widespread use in illegal transactions has added another layer of complexity for investigators to ferret through. Blockchain technology and the understanding of the common artifacts around cryptocurrency use should be in every investigator’s repertoire. Additionally, the dark web provides the anonymity and obscurity sought by offenders who hide behind their keyboards. This workshop reveals some of the many elements that investigators are expected to be familiar with and discusses modern technology that can be used in combatting crimes against children and human trafficking in this age of ever-increasing anonymity for criminals.
This is an exhibitor workshop. No continuing education credits (CEUs) will be granted for this session. Attendees who complete evaluations for this session will be entered into a drawing for a gift card.
