In just two and a half years, between Jan 1, 2019, through June 30, 2021, NCMEC received 546 missing children reports from 47 states involving online enticement. We know this crime occurs on all types of platforms, reaching children wherever they may live in the U.S., so it is important to be aware of the unique aspects of these cases. This presentation includes the most updated data and trends based on missing child cases reported to NCMEC and an overview of the resources for missing child investigations involving online enticement, overlayed with case examples detailing how NCMEC supports law enforcement, from when a child is reported missing up through recovery.
