This presentation follows two low-priority CyberTips through the investigations that led detectives to two predators who were abusing multiple children and producing videos. Both cases led to federal indictments of the predators. The first case is an offender who was sharing CSAM files on Snapchat and was found to be producing videos of himself assaulting multiple children. The second case involves a single file CyberTip from Dropbox that led to an all-hands-on-deck investigation to locate a sexual predator who later admitted to producing a video of himself sexually assaulting at least ten girls under the age of ten for the purpose of trading and selling the videos online. The presenters will discuss how attention to detail at various points of the investigations led them to the self-produced videos of sexual abuse. They will also discuss the cases in detail and offer tips on how investigators can be cognizant in their own investigations of small details that may lead to a hands-on sexual predator from a low-priority CyberTip.
