This presentation will discuss best practices used in interviewing those that wish to sexually exploit children. This is not a stand-alone interview training presentation. It will discuss developing your own investigative process and using best practices while interviewing suspects. Learn from our mistakes and our successes. Topics include team building, initial set-up, personnel issues, interview site selection, investigative techniques, pitfalls to avoid, and identifying areas of improvement. The presentation includes real audio and video examples of suspect interviews.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be better equipped to conduct interviews with subjects that exploit children.
Upon completion, participants will have learned methods to collect evidence to be used in an investigation as well as information that may lead to the identification of exploited children.
Upon completion, participants will have learned from experienced child exploitation investigators how to conduct successful interviews using an empathetic approach.
Upon completion, participants will have better confidence to investigate sex trafficking and child exploitation cases.
