The Tech Coalition will host this session on Perceived First-Person Child Sexual Abuse Material (PFP CSAM), or “self-generated” imagery featuring youth regardless of context, the presence of coercion, intent, or motivation. Electronic Service Providers (ESPs) are legally required to report all such imagery to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), but should all reports be treated equally? Attend this discussion and hear perspectives from the tech industry, NCMEC, law enforcement, and international hotline representatives. Be prepared for a lively discussion!
Learning Objectives:
Learn about the Tech Coalition's year-long efforts surrounding self-generated CSAM .
Share ideas and discuss suggested terminology for more appropriately referring to this unique dimension of child sexual abuse material.
Gain understanding of how the reporting chain for self-produced imagery currently works, and where the pain points are, from the perspective of industry, law enforcement, and NCMEC.
