In this workshop, attendees will learn the history of the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center's community outreach and training opportunities. The presenter will discuss how to get started with building a community training/education team for your CAC. Attendees will learn how education/training can bring awareness, volunteers, and donors into your CAC. The presenter will discuss the involvement of staff members who can contribute to offerings of education awareness and resources that can be created from your CAC. Attendees will learn ways to recruit staff for this team and funding for awareness, education offerings, and prevention curriculum. The presenter will discuss areas to take deeper dives into incorporating education/awareness offerings. The impact of training and education on DCAC marketing efforts will be covered. Lastly, the presenter will discuss lessons learned from building a training/education team.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to know more about how to get started with a training program within their Children's Advocacy Center by creating offerings and history about their organization(s)m to bring awareness of child abuse in communities.
