Attend this presentation and learn about the emergence of pay-per-view/live streaming of child sexual exploitation and the complexities faced by investigators in combatting this epidemic. This case study presented by the South Australian Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (SA JACET) and Philippines National Police (PNP) will detail how a routine search of a traveler at the international arrivals hall in Melbourne led to the analysis of one million media files and rescue of fifteen victims of child sexual exploitation in the Philippines. The presenters will discuss how these agencies worked tirelessly to jointly overcome challenges all in the pursuit of child protection. You will learn how the PNP deployed over one -hundred personnel throughout the Philippines at the height of COVID and how this resulted in the apprehension of five Philippines-based facilitators of child sexual exploitation and the rescue of thirteen children and two adults of sexual exploitation. In an Australian first, learn how this investigation also led to the forfeiture of $165,000 in an effort to inflict maximum damage on child sex offenders.
